“California Cruiser: Car is one of a kind that people love asking questions about. It is a 1956 International Pickup. Same body style as the one in the animated story “CARS”, “Tow Matter. The front end is off an old Postal Jeep.
The hood and bed are made out of 19 gauge steel. The fiberglass bed cover is off a full size Ford Pickup, cut down to fit the bed with gas assisted shocks to support it when in the up position. in side the bed is an oak veneer floor with the battery and a 16 gal. fuel cell. the rear fenders are trailer fenders widened 4″s to make them 10″s wide. The tail lights and head lights are LED, With the park lights and turn signals mounted within.
The frame is made out of 2×3″ 120 wall square tubing. All suspension is mounted on coil springs for a smooth ride. The front axle is a 1955-57 Chevy pickup, while the rear end is an S-10. Truck has manual steering and drum brakes with a power brake booster. The engine and transmission are stock 350 Chevy items. Transmission has a B&M shifter.
The engine has a single wire Alt. and a high volume aluminum water pump connected to a Griffin 3 core aluminum rad. Windshield is chopped 6″ with a Lexan windshield.
